The Climate Mobility Research Network is an inter-disciplinary research group that collaborates with Government Agencies, Transit Authorities, Indigenous Communities, and the Public.
UITR Lab
UBC integrated Transportation Research (UiTR) Laboratory, formerly known as CeTLUR, is a transportation and land use research facility at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan (UBCO) campus. This centre is led by Dr. Mahmudur Fatmi, a transportation professor at UBCO. This research facility is dedicated to conduct innovative and inter-disciplinary research which ranges from designing surveys to collecting novel travel behavioural data and big data, to using the data to develop state-of-the-art behavioural models and urban system microsimulation tools to investigate the changes in land use and transportation choices.
The findings of this research group assist in making effective transportation and land use policies and infrastructure investment decisions. The UiTR lab collaborates with scholars around the world, as well as has partnerships with the local, provincial and federal government agencies and industries.

The Institute for Community Engaged Research (ICER) is an academic research institute that unites researchers from a broad range of disciplinary backgrounds, including Anthropology, Gender Studies, Indigenous Studies, Economics, Education, Health Studies, Human Geography, Nursing, Social Work and Sociology.
Sharing a commitment to research that supports diversity, equity, and social justice, the Institute facilitates the participation of community members, organizations, students, and academics as co-researchers. ICER is a hub for building relationships, collaboration, and effective knowledge creation and exchange.

The research in Khalad Hasan Lab is centered around human-computer interaction (HCI), with a focus on interactions with mobile and wearable devices. More specifically, the lab explores user needs and limitations while interacting with mobile and wearable devices, designing new interaction techniques to facilitate the needs and help users to overcome the limitations.

iREACH Lab
The iREACH Lab conducts research on the development and application of real-world-based tools to quickly and quantitatively assess the impact of our policy and technology decisions on air pollution and climate outcomes. The knowledge gained is then generalized using techniques such as Land Use Regressions and other data mining tools to support better environment and energy policy planning and reduce exposure risk. Our work involves interdisciplinary teams and collaborations with a range of relevant stakeholders, including colleagues in other departments at UBC (e.g., Liu Institute, IRES), non-profits, and regulatory agencies.
